File this under: winter fun, minus the frostbite.

Two of the Wedgewood-Houston/Chestnut Hill corridor’s newer standouts — Cafe Babu and Crush Bottle Shop — are joining forces for a one-night Après Ski event designed to squeeze a little more joy out of the tail end of winter.

The party is set for Friday, Feb. 28 from 6 to 10 p.m., and yes — it’s free to attend.

Lodge vibes, Nashville edition

The concept is simple and honestly kind of brilliant: capture the best part of ski culture (the drinks afterward) without requiring anyone to actually strap on skis.

Expect:

  • Alpine-inspired cocktails
  • Small bites
  • Two DJs keeping the energy up
  • Cozy lodge-style atmosphere

The goal is to lean festive rather than full-on fireplace-quiet, so don’t expect this to drift into sleepy hygge territory. Think more après energy, less cabin nap.

The teams behind the party

If you’ve been watching the WeHo food scene lately, this pairing makes sense.

Cafe Babu has quickly built buzz in the area, while Crush Bottle Shop — operated by Seema Prasad and Brian Hadfield — has become a go-to neighborhood stop for thoughtfully curated wine and beverages.

Put them together, add music, and you’ve got a late-winter pop-up that feels very on-brand for where the neighborhood is heading.

The Nash Potatoes Take

Let’s be honest: the best part of skiing has always been what happens after the skiing.

This event smartly skips the cold, the crowds, and the orthopedic risk — and jumps straight to the cocktails and music.

No lift ticket required. No broken bones expected.

Just show up and vibe.
